North Western Area Campaign:
February-1942
Ariel attacks done by the Japanese created conflict and then the Allies had fought back as towns were raided in Northern Queens land and Western Australia and continued to the end of the war.
New Guinea Campaign:
January 1942- August 1945
Japan had control over New Guinea and some by the Dutch colony. The Australian forces took back the land for land and air and naval bases.
Fighting On the Kokoda Track:
July 1942-22 January 1943
In July 1942 Australia had just two Militia brigades in Port Moresby, the administrative centre of Papua. In that month the Japanese landed troops at Buna and Gona on the Papuan north coast and in the following month they landed another force at Milne Bay.
Where Australians Fought During WWII
Australians fought against Germany and Italy in Europe , the Mediterranean and North Africa, as well as against Japan in South-East Asia and other parts of the Pacific.
